PRISHTINA, Jan 10 /ATA/ – Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti accused Serbia on Wednesday of pursuing the same methods applied by Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Addressing the first cabinet meeting this year, Kurti said “Serbia applies Russia’s president methods and it poses a threat not only to Kosovo and the Balkans, but also to its own citizens,” following the recent arrest of two Kosovo citizens by Serbian authorities and after Serbian political opponents were beaten most recently.
Kurti said that the arrest of two Kosovo citizens is unjust and intentional.
PM Kurti also referred to the case of a Serbian opposition politician, who was recently beaten after he apologized on behalf of Serbs for the crimes committed in Kosovo during the war in 1998-1999.
“Serbia continues to use Putin’s methods by intimidating and torturing political opponents,” Kurti said.
Kurti noted that 2024 also started with some good news for Kosovo, starting with the visa liberalization.
