TIRANA, Jan 5 /ATA/ From January 1, the new law “On Income Tax” is in effect. This law has already been completed with all the necessary by-laws that make it applicable.
Minister of Finance and Economy, Ervin Mete announced on Friday in a press conference on last year’s economic performance and the expectations for 2024 that the law modernizes the income taxation system in the country and ensures more fairness in taxation of income groups.
In this regard, he informed that the reference prices on the coast will be reviewed during this year and that there will be a division of certain areas, which will reflect the increase in prices in these areas.
As part of the law “On Income Tax” a new guideline has been drawn up regarding the taxation of the transfer of ownership. We deemed it appropriate to establish a new rule, based on which the reference prices will be amortized at 1% per year depending on the age of the building. During this year, there will be a review of the reference prices on the coast as well, with the division of certain areas, which will reflect the increase in prices in these areas,” he said.
