TIRANA, January 4 /ATA/ The treasury bills yields rose at the first auction of 2024.
The Bank of Albania reported that the average yield increased to 3.4% from 3.36% in the last auction of 2023.
In the first auction of this year, there were sold 10.5 billion ALL treasury bills.
According to the Bank of Albania, the lower demand seems to have influenced the increase in yield, which has been limited anyway.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Albania continues to maintain relatively facilitating monetary conditions compared to most other central banks. The base rate is at the level of 3.25%, one of the lowest in Europe. This policy has enabled relatively low yields and interest rates for the local currency./p.s./
