Rama: Winter postcard from our Alps

TIRANA, Dec 11 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on Monday morning a view of the snow-covered Albanian Alps.

“Good morning and with this winter postcard from our Alps, I wish you a lovely week,” Rama wrote in a post on his social media account.

After a warm and sunny autumn, the country was engulfed by rainy weather and low temperatures which came with snowfall in the mountains, working their magic in the white landscape.

The Albanian Alps lie north of the Drin River and west of the lower reaches of the Valbona River (tributary of the Drin). They include the northern part of the country and occupy about 8% of it.
Their average height above sea level reaches 1500 m. Most of Albania’s peaks above 2000 m are located here.
