Budget 2024 for MoIE, Balluku: Tangible economic development

TIRANA, Nov 10 /ATA/ Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, said that “budget support for capital investments for 2024 meets 80% of the needs that we have projected in terms of operational costs or even investments.

In a televised interview, Balluku emphasized that, “the 2024 budget is a social budget. April will see the highest salary increase for a number of professions such as teachers, policemen, nurses, and part of the administration. We have designed a budget that will not leave any work unfinished, but we have been prudent and we have tried to understand the policy of each sector, such as education, agricultural issues.”

According to her, Albania has prioritized the agricultural development of the country as agriculture accounts for over 20% of GDP, we have achieved over 500 million euros in exports. Definitely infrastructure is the one that has the biggest share in the state budget. On the other hand, the big projects have already been addressed.
What we have to do, Balluku says, referring to the IMF, we must not run into arrears.

“This is a budget that meets all the conditions to advance strategic projects to open other important projects for the country. And to carry out all the necessary operations such as road maintenance, or such as energy, or the mining sector for 2024”, stated Balluku.
Balluku expressed conviction that the 2024 budget will be one of the best budgets ever.

“The government should be proud of the work it has done, as it has been a difficult job, subsequent crises, but right now we are in a stable economic moment, and the economic development is clear, tangible by citizens and the outlook is really optimistic,” Balluku said.
