Regional conference on trade facilitation in Tirana

TIRANA, Nov 7 /ATA/ – A regional conference on trade facilitation “Strengthening Collaborative Partnerships in the Digital Age” is scheduled to take place in Tirana, Albania.

The General Directorate of Customs announced in a press release on Tuesday that the regional conference will bring together around 200 senior state officials, business representatives from the Western Balkans, Moldova, the European Union member states, the European Commission, the World Customs Organization, and the United States of America.

The conference takes place as part of the GIZ Project Supporting Regional Economic Integration, co-financed by the EU and the German government, in close collaboration with Albania’s General Directorate of Customs.

The conference will focus on the transformative potential of cooperation, with the aim of strengthening and promoting partnerships within the Western Balkans and with the European Union.

The conference will serve as a platform to witness the achievements of the cooperation between the Customs Administrations and to further discuss success stories and challenges ahead.

The gathering will provide the opportunity to gather data from best practices, not only from the EU, but at world level. The primary goal is to advocate for stronger cooperation, emphasizing the need to promote deeper regional integration and faster progress on the path to the European Union.
