TIRANA, Nov 7 /ATA/- MP Agron Shehaj stated on Monday evening that he has withdrawn from the DP because he does not agree with the decisions that have been made recently.
In the “Opinion” broadcast, Shehaj said that the defeat in the local elections showed that they were not democratic elections, adding that the opposition is not building confidence in the electorate.
“We emerged from the local elections with a disappointing result. Although the majority actually won 90% of the municipalities, we were defeated in some of the most important municipalities. It was clear that this result shows how democratic this country is. So all the issues raised by the opposition and the leaders of the opposition are objective. On the other hand, it is clear that there is a lack of hope and trust, I would say, on the part of our voters. I know the reasons behind the status quo. What I propose is that we need to come up with solutions. The solution cannot come if stay idle, we cannot pretend that we are not watching, pretend that the problems will solve by themselves. Following daily politics and daily opposition actions that are fair, I simply think that we should give our electorate a reliable alternative”, said Shehaj.
He informed that he had discussed all the objections with the former prime minister Sali Berisha.
