TIRANA, October 16/ATA/ “The Berlin process is an important platform for the advancement of the economic integration of the Western Balkan countries”, said Vice President of the WB for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani.
She is participating in the discussions of the Berlin Process Summit being held in Tirana for the facilitation of trade, transport and digital payments.
“The Western Balkans has an extraordinary opportunity to exploit a market of 450 million inhabitants in the European Union. Experience around the world, including the Western Balkans, has shown that in order for firms to grow and manage to use economies of scale, it is essential that they enter international markets,” said Bassani.
“Economic integration provides a fast track to the adoption of new technologies, the flow of new ideas and innovations, and the transition to higher productivity that is the foundation of economic growth in middle-income economies,” concluded Bassani. /p.s./
