TIRANA, October 12/ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani spoke today in the Assembly about the draft resolution in support of Kosovo.
Hasani said that, “Kosovo is at the focus of Albanian diplomatic activity”.
“International recognition of Kosovo is our absolute priority”, the minister emphasized, while adding that, “Kosovo is part of our agenda in the NATO, OSCE, CoE and UN”.
Hasani also added that, “Albania was elected to the Human Rights Council with an impressive result. Whenever there is a need, we will take the voice of Kosovo there, too”.
Hasani emphasized that, “Next week, we will organize a meeting of the Arria formula at the Security Council.” The meeting will be devoted to the impunity of crimes during the conflict. Kosovo will have the opportunity to share its experience with the whole world”.
“We will continue to support Kosovo to give it a voice wherever we can,” said Hasani.
He underlined that, “The criminal attack of September 24 was an alarm bell for all of us. And the follow-up developments are a source of great concern.”
“Declaring a day of mourning for 3 criminals is the most dangerous signal that Serbia could give to the region”, said Hasani, as he stated that, “This gesture runs counter to the efforts of the international community. It also runs counter to Serbia’s own declarations about the readiness for an agreement”.
“When words do not coincide with deeds, there is a serious problem”, said Hasani, as he added that, “Albania does not support and strongly opposes any action that fuels the conflict.”
According to the minister, “Serbia’s efforts to consider it as a relative event of September 24 are futile.”
Hasani also emphasized that at the Ministerial held in Tirana, the other participants in the process also condemned the attack in Kosovo.
“It is up to Serbia to conduct a deep and serious investigation process. If they are really interested in dialogue, the culprits should be brought before justice,” Hasani said
He underlined that, “Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is the only solution for overcoming this situation”.
“Dialogue should not remain hostage to internal dynamics or political games. The future of the entire region depends on the outcome of the Dialogue. The dialogue must continue without losing a single moment,” he said
“Every time lost has a higher price for the future of Kosovo”, emphasized Minister Hasani, as he added that, “The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs will continue to work closely and constantly with Kosovo”./p.s./
