TIRANA, October 9 /ATA/ Interior Minister Taulant Balla reacted today after the police operation during which even the head of Kurbini Police Station was also arrested for collaborating with criminal gang.
Balla wrote in the social media that the self-clean-up of the State Police has already entered another level.
“The process of self-clean-up of the State Police continues intensively. The State Police, in cooperation with SPAK, arrested this afternoon Chief of Kurbin Police Station, who is suspected of collaboration with the heads of a criminal gang against whom there have also been issued arrest warrants,” wrote Balla.
According to him, the strengthening of cooperation between law-enforcement agencies and the common fight for the clean-up even of the State Police itself, will take Albania to another level of the rule of law.
The State Police carried out today the mega-operation coded “Flame at sea”, where 12 miles from the Patok lagoon, 4 Albanian citizens and 2 Ukrainian citizens were arrested in a boat.
The police seized 2 firearms, pistols, military ammunition, a large amount of money in different currencies, 25 mobile phones and a quantity of 23 kg of suspected narcotic cannabis sativa. /r.e/p.s./
