TIRANA, October 4/ATA/ The number of visitors to Rozafa Castle is constantly increasing.
During the month of September, this castle was visited by 17,984 people, 5,535 more visitors than during the same period in 2022.
The Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage invited culture enthusiasts to visit this valuable site, which offers history and unforgettable adventures in the castle.
Shkodra is one of the cities with the richest cultural heritage, not only in Albania, but also in the region. And the castle is the main attraction of this city.
The requalification of the Rozafa castle through installment of lighting, an investment by the Ministry of Culture, has turned it into a tourist attraction, visitable by local and foreign tourists even in the evening.
Rozafa Castle is the oldest historical monument. In the surrounding walls of the castle, which cover about 9 hectares of land, there can be clearly distinguished the constructions of four periods: the Balshaj (XIV century), the Venetian occupation (XV century), the Ottoman occupation (XVI-XVII century), and the Bushatli ( XVIII-XIX centuries). Built during the Illyrian Kingdom, it is represented by a legend that shows the keeping of a promise, of the legendary given word./p.s./
