New academic year kicks off, 20 thousand students sit in auditoriums for the first time

TIRANA, Oct 2 /ATA/ The new academic year 2023-2024 starts on Monday in all universities of the country.

About 20,000 students sit for the first time in university auditoriums across the country.
Student registration this year took place in two rounds. The first round took place from August 29 to September 11, while the second round up to September 21.

The registration was done online for the first two rounds and at the end of them, in the study programs with free admission quotas, the candidates who applied to U-Albania were registered directly in the universities until all the quotas were filled.

The novelty this year for students who sit for the first time in medical studies classrooms is that they must sign a contract to provide health services in our country for a period of 5 years. While for students who are currently studying medicine, the obligation is less years.

The Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu addressed the students and teachers with a congratulatory message.

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of over 121,000 students in our universities. For over 20 thousand of the students, this is the first year. The transition from high school to university is accompanied by so many changes, it ushers in a new stage of life”, said Manastirliu.
