TIRANA, Sept 19 /ATA/ INSTAT has been preparing for four years and is very well engaged in the 2023 Population and Housing Census, a very important process for our country, which will be the last one to be conducted using the conventional door-to-door method.
This is what Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, said on Tuesday in an interview where she revealed the details and novelties that this process will bring to the citizens and our country.
“To ensure a successful process, in this period INSTAT has undertaken campaigns at the local level, with the aim of informing the entire population according to geographical distribution. These are 6 important weeks for the country”, said Ibrahimaj.
She appealed to all citizens to understand and contribute to raising community awareness about the importance of this process, which is conducted once every 10 years.
According to her, the pollsters for this process are trained to outline the entire process, to clarify any unclear questions, facilitating the process and to successfully carry out this registration procedure.
Ibrahimaj pointed out that in the world the census is done by mail, that is, the questions are sent by mail and the answer is returned by mail. However, she continued, in our country it has been chosen that once again, the population and housing census will be conducted in a conventional way, door to door, although innovative methods, such as tablet instead of paper will be used this time.
The minister said that the use of technology will enable the data entry in the INSTAT database in real time, avoiding any doubt about data manipulation and the process.
“The most important thing is maintaining the confidentiality of the data. The data will be used only for statistical purposes and will be used as a basis to build the statistical registers of our country. Therefore, it is important to engage the entire population and answer the questions as accurately and fairly as possible and understand the importance of those 30 minutes that will be dedicated to answering the questions, as it will provide the basis for all the development policies that will be launched in our country”, said Ibrahimaj.
She said that the census will provide data on the demographic distribution of the population, such as the population living in rural areas or in urban areas and to design development policies in these regions, for infrastructure, healthcare and educational services.
