TIRANA, Aug 8 /ATA/ – The centre of Kinostudio, a neighbourhood named after the iconic building that once housed Albania’s national film studios and their national film archives in Tirana, will undergo a requalification project designed to transform it into a new urban centre in the Albanian capital.
From a space mostly saving as a parking area, the centre of Kinostudio will be transformed into a park featuring children playground, recreational areas and green spaces.
The project also includes rehabilitation of the facades of residential buildings, while work is already underway on construction of local streets and roads.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, who inspected the ongoing construction works , said that the project is the latest construction site of the polycentric Tirana and that the area will house a number of important public and private institutions.
He called on local residents and businesses to cooperate, saying that the revitalization project will significantly increase value of their properties.
