Tomor Park, considerable increase of chamois thanks to moratorium

TIRANA, August 2/ATA/ The local residents have confirmed the presence of chamois, one of the rarest animals in the Tomor Mount National Park.

The National Agency for Protected Areas shared today in the social media footage of chamois in this park.

“More and more present in the park; we are witnessing a significant increase in the number of individuals of this type”, said the agency.

The moratorium on hunting in Albania has increased the number of chamois in Albania and mainly in this park.

In Tomor Mount National Park, it lives in natural and semi-natural ecosystems with dry grass and rocky habitats. The chamois is protected species in the European document “Directive for settlements II/IV”. /k.s/p.s./
