Greece wildfires, Peleshi: Ready to help

TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi stated today that Albania is ready to help Greece deal with the fire situation.

Through a message on social media, Peleshi expressed his shock at the news of two pilots’ death on the island of Evia, just north of Athens, when their Canadair firefighting plane crashed into a ravine.

The minister wrote that, “Two pilots losing their lives while helping to put out the fires is tragic. We pray that their souls find the peace they deserve.”

“We stand in solidarity with Greece and are ready to help in any way that may be needed. To stand by their side in these difficult days is a humane and moral duty”, wrote Peleshi.

According to him, “The loss of two pilots shows the invaluable service of every soldier, who is ready to protect the life and safety of the country’s citizens by fighting every summer and risking their lives to put out the fires.”

“The deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the victims in these difficult moments”, wrote Peleshi. /m.m/p.s./
