TIRANA, July 16 /ATA/ – The Albanian Academy of Sciences voiced support for the changes proposed by two Socialist lawmakers to the law on the Academy of Sciences.
In a statement posted on the social media on Sunday, the Academy said that the draft law proposed by lawmakers Petro Koçi and Ismet Beqiri doesn’t differ from the original bill already being reviewed by the relevant parliamentary committees.
The Academy said that “attempts to deceit the public opinion are scandalous.”
“The current draft on the Academy of Sciences, a legal initiative proposed by lawmakers Ismet Beqiri and Petro Koçi, is 100% the same with the original bill that has been endorsed by the Assembly of the Academy. The draft law hasn’t been altered, but just an additional amendment has been withdrawn by the sponsors or the legislation for procedural reasons,” the Academy said in its statement.
