TIRANA, July 11 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, said on Tuesday that Albania has managed to contain and ease inflation rates.
“Albania has continued to have contained and slowing inflation rates. The annual change of the consumer price index in June 2023 is 4.5%, while a year ago this change was 7.4%,” said Ibrahimaj.
The main components of rising inflation throughout last year, but also during this year were food and non-alcoholic beverages, which also have the main share in the basket expenses of Albanian citizens.
However, this inflation has continued to be significantly lower than the inflation of this category in the countries of the region and the European Union.
