PRISTINA, June 25 /ATA/- A woman and her 5-year-old son died as a result of yesterday’s floods in Peja.
The police informed that after the death of the 5-year-old boy, his mother, who had gone missing, was also found dead in the “Asllan Qeshme” neighborhood.
The death of the 5-year-old was confirmed by the Peja Hospital at around 23:10 on Saturday. Meanwhile, the woman’s death was confirmed by the medical team around 1:20 am on Sunday.
Official sources report that in the “Fidanishte” neighborhood, two people were sent for medical treatment after sustaining injuries.
The Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, said that the authorities are on standby to overcome the difficult situation in Peja.
“Our search-and-rescue units have already left for the city of Peja to come to the aid of those trapped in difficult situation. With all our capacities we are on standby to overcome this situation,” Mehaj wrote on Facebook.
