TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ The European Association of Water Regulators (WAREG) in partnership with the Water Regulatory Entity (ERRU) and with the support of the TAIEX program of the European Commission, organized on Wednesday the first regional workshop for the regulatory authorities of Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
The workshop focused on providing tailored advice and guidance on the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) with a special focus on the “sunshine regulation” approach to regulating the UK sector in the Western Balkans.
Experts from WAREG and regulatory authorities in Hungary, Portugal and Italy delivered presentations addressing concrete aspects of data collection and criteria for their validity. The latter are crucial for measuring the performance of companies, to further establish the appropriate objectives and goals for improving their progress, efficiency and transparency of the entire sector.
This workshop comes one day after the General Assembly of WAREG, which continues its contribution to the promotion of regional cooperation and the exchange of good practices in addressing problems.
Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia are direct beneficiaries of this project, while Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia participated as observers.
