TIRANA, May 31 /ATA/ The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, stopped in administrative unit no 8 as part of the post-election thankyou tour, where he said that the victory in this unit has been amazing.
He said that it was work and utmost dedication that convinced the citizens to trust the leadership of Tirana to the Socialist Party.
“Here in Unit 8, which was once called the stronghold of the opposition – a unit, about which the other side used to say that ‘we have it firmly in our pocket’, ‘there we hung our jacket, we win even if we don’t go at all’, we have won the biggest victory in 30 or so years of democracy, thanks to work, thanks to dedication, humanity, perseverance, thanks to the promises kept, thanks to the extraordinary commitment of the men and women of this unit, who deserve our utmost respect. Today I would like to thank the whole generation of those who kept our party alive in the most difficult of times, but also those who lead our party today, all the delegates, socialist organizations, all those who were volunteers, activists, observers, commissioners, vote counters,” said Veliaj.
He said that the reason why the Socialist Party wins by a landslide is the passion to work and to serve everyone evenly.
