TIRANA, May 20 /ATA/ – The seventh episode of Albania Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast on Saturday featured the Shkoder Mayor-elect Benet Beci and the most recent winner of the TV Big Brother VIP competition show Luiz Ejlli.
Entitled “Blue Brothers”, the latest radio show was described as a very special one by the Prime Minister as it features two very special individuals.
Answering to the Prime Minister’s question whether had ever imagined even in his wildest dreams that one day he would be elected Mayor of Shkoder, Benet Beci said he hadn’t imagined it indeed, yet given his performance results and the cooperation with mayors across the country when he used to serve as the head of the Albanian Development Fund somehow reflect the election result in the north-western municipality, once a stronghold of the opposition Democratic Party.
“This is indeed a feeling everyone experiences, when realizing that such a dream is coming true and such a result has been within reach given the work and projects we have implemented across Albania. I have never imagined that I could win in Shkoder, but I have been constantly thinking about finding the mechanism and make this city like every other city,” Beci said.
The renowned singer and Big Brother VIP winner Luiz Ejlli said that last Sunday’s local elections for the first time showed that Shkoder citizens voted wisely and not heartily.
“They have definitely looked at Benet and have looked back to Shkoder’s progress in the last 30 years and of course they have thought: ‘Why not? We have nothing to lose. Why don’t we try and hope to change the current situation,” Ejlli said.
