TIRANA, May 15 /ATA/ – The mayoral candidate from the opposition’s Together We Win Coalition Bardh Spahia conceded defeat in the Sunday’s local elections in the north-western municipality of Shkoder, expressing gratitude to the citizens that backed him in the polls.
Spahia issued the statement after the vote counting process shows clear lead of the Socialist Party candidate Benet Beci.
“Any government deriving from the underground criminal world and dirty money is short-lived. Shkoder’s free spirit has withstood the darkest of times. I would like to express gratitude to all of those who resisted and didn’t compromise freedom,” Spahia said in a post via the social media.
