TIRANA, May 15 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ -Shkoder’s new Mayor –elect Benet Beci stated Monday that he will deliver on all the plans and development projects for the north-western city.
The election victory in Shkoder is very significant for the ruling Socialist Party as this is the first time this party wins the city, which has traditionally been a stronghold of the Democratic Party.
In a press statement together with other winning Socialist candidates in the municipalities of Malesi e Madhe and Vau i Dejes at the regional SP headquarters, Beci said that “Shkoder decided to back its own development.”
“I am still overwhelmed by emotions of the past two extraordinary days when Shkoder and Shkoder citizens spoke out and decided to back development and change. We are committed to delivering on all plans and development projects in Shkoder,” he said.
New Shkoder Mayor said “it is really a challenge to deliver on our promises.”
“I would like to express particular gratitude to PM Rama. The support for the plans and projects for Shkoder will become a reality,” Beci concluded.
