TIRANA, May 11/ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, at the wrap-up of the green campaign in Tirana, said that the citizens will vote for Veliaj as Tirana mayor, because he has shown in two consecutive terms that he does not lead Tirana by leaning to the left and turning his back to the right. Rama said that the SP candidate, Erion Veliaj, will win by a substantial margin as opposed to the previous 2 mandates.
At the closing of the election campaign in Tirana, Rama emphasized that Tirana today is not the one he has managed.
“Today it is much bigger and it is no longer just a city surrounded by municipalities on its old line. Tirana used to end at Astir, at Kinostudio, it used to end where the new boulevard ends today, where we are as Farka was further back. Today, Tirana extends to Ndroq Zall-Bastar, up to Dajt,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister emphasized that today the capital is no longer what it was, a city rife with unlawfulness and covered in the dust of an unprecedented chaos that was called the democratic capitalism.
“It is not even the capital that emerged from that situation and moved forward, this capital today is the centre of our national pride. I want to tell the residents of Tirana who will go to the polls on May 14, it is very important to bear in mind that the May 14 vote is not only for the mayor, but also to decide how the future of our country will look like in relation to itself and friends, allies, in relation to our future, to be an equal state in the united European family,” Rama added.
