TIRANA, May 8/ATA/ The “MS Monet” is the cruise that is docked at quay no. 5, bringing 60 foreign tourists to the city of Durrës.
The cruise has an accommodation capacity of up to 158 passengers.
This will not be the only stop of “MS Monet” in the port of Durrës, as it is expected to return to the shores of Durrës during this summer season.
The inclusion in the tourist guides also shows a growing interest of foreign holiday-makers in our country during this tourist season.
The INSTAT report on tourism shows that 7.5 million foreign tourists visited our country during 2022, spending their vacations in Albania, not only during the summer season, but also during other seasons of the year.
It means that there are 1.9 million more tourists than in 2021 and 18% more than in 2019, which until now held the record of numbers.
Also, the report provides interesting data on new markets that are growing rapidly. There are 85% more visitors from England; 3.7 times more visitors from Spain; 2 times more visitors from Slovenia; 3 times more visitors from the Netherlands; 84% more visitors from Turkey; 2 times more than the Nordic countries; without forgetting the guests from Kosovo, North Macedonia and entries from other Balkan countries.
Data from the Bank of Albania showed that the annual revenues from foreign tourists in 2022 reached 2.84 billion Euros, or 36% more than in 2019.
Meanwhile, the authorities in the country are optimistic for a good tourist season this year as well, as they claim that so far 83% of the tourist capacities in the country have been reserved. /gj.m/r.e/p.s./
