TIRANA, April 25 /ATA/ The Democratic Party lawmaker, Jorida Tabaku, said that the Competition Authority should be at the service of competition, which unfortunately has been eroded in these years at the expense of the Albanians.
Tabaku, who was present at the meeting of the Parliamentary Economy and Finance Commission, asked the head of the Competition Authority, Denar Biba, to account for the commission’s performance after the latter requested an increase in staff.
She raised the question whether the Competition Authority has increased the volume of work to justify the increase in staff.
Tabaku said that, “for me, we can consider the decisions executed and reflected on time for the citizens as success when the free competition is safeguarded.”
We discussed the flour market, when the dynamics change. However, when the Competition Authority is overdue, it does not react in time in the interest of the citizens! I did not hear you react over the port of Durres, which is in breach of competition, and you did not express yourself. If you want an increase in the staff, then do work to be referenced, as is the case of SSA and its findings,” said Tabaku.
