TIRANA, April 11 /ATA/ Foreign chambers of commerce in our country have presented a series of proposals to the government, with the aim of creating a more favorable business climate, attracting foreign direct investments and facilitating Albania’s transition to the EU and international markets.
In a joint press statement, the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania (AmCham), the German Chamber of Commerce (DIHA), the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Confindustria Albania and the French Chamber of Commerce, in addition to the proposals, emphasize that they are ready to support the Government of Albania in these efforts and provide their expertise and resources to ensure their successful implementation.
“The American Chamber of Commerce in Albania (AmCham), the German Chamber of Commerce (DIHA), the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Confindustria Albania and the French Chamber of Commerce are united in their position on the status of the business climate in Albania. We are cognizant of the country’s potential for business and foreign investment, due to its strategic position, natural resources and talented workforce. However, our members continue to cite the business climate as one of the three main challenges of entrepreneurship in Albania, and we believe that the current climate is ineffective and in need of significant improvement,” the statement said.
As a country aspiring for EU membership, the Chambers call on the Albanian Government, Parliament and other public agencies to implement comprehensive economic and investment reforms in several areas.
