TIRANA, April 7/ATA/ “The game with increase of the average salary is an empty spoon and mere propaganda”, said the lawmaker of the Democratic Party in opposition Jorida Tabaku today. In a post on social networks, Tabaku reacted to the government initiative to increase the average salary.
“The government thinks that it can increase the minimum wage, then the average wage by a simple decision and in the end it can improve the lives of Albanians by removing the temptation of emigration”, said Tabaku.
But, according to her, the economy works differently. “In order to receive a higher salary, you must provide added value to the economy through work. This means that the business offers more productivity and the country’s economy grows. Therefore, when the government promises the average salary of 900 Euros that will be increased by order of the prime minister, this is simply daydreaming”, said Tabaku.
According to her, Albania’s economic growth is predicted to be 2.2% for the current year according to the World Bank, one of the lowest growth in the region as a result of many factors including the weak economic structure of our economy.
“The increase in the prices of food products, also a gift of the perverse tax policy, is over 20%, while the income of Albanians is the lowest in the Western Balkan. Our economy is not competitive, it is not growing and this is also a consequence of the socialist taxation system that has been promoted these 10 years; socialist taxation takes the taxes from 95% of Albanians’ and gives tax relief to 5% of oligarchs”, said Tabaku./p.s./
