TIRANA, April 7 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Friday that the Farmer’s Portal offers information about subsidies and the ways to access funding.
“You can also check what the prior recipients of financing have done, because financing in agriculture will keep shrinking, I mean, financing that is provided regardless of what you do as financing will be made available depending on what you do. So if you insist on planting a crop that doesn’t sell, you can’t get financing, hardly anyone will come and uproot that crop and say: “This will end up in the ditch because you won’t sell it.” But the agricultural support system, the Ministry of Agriculture, the directorates will do everything in their capacity to provide guidance,” he said.
Rama emphasized that “funds never run out if you know how to apply for them and where to apply for them.”
“The European Union makes a lot of funding available for all countries, but there is a very interesting fact; the most developed countries receive more funds from the available funds, so, if we are saying, Germany or Austria has 100 euros available, it manages to get 99. If another country has 100 euros available, it barely gets 40 because it’s the capability to absorb them,” he said.
Rama added that the farmer must have the right idea, write the adequate project and have credibility to receive funds.
“Some say: “How is it possible that someone received support twice”? Odds are that this person has done all the right things to receive support twice and thanks to support benefited twice, this person has grown his company contributing to development of the sector as a whole,” Rama said.
