TIRANA, April 5 /ATA/ The Central Election Commission presented today the Electronic Platform for Financial Reporting, an instrument for strengthening the monitoring of the financing of political parties and the transparency of campaign funds.
In his speech, State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi thanked the EU and the European Commission for supporting the CEC.
“I thank the European Union and the Council of Europe for the support they gave to the CEC to realize one of the most important digital projects on the list of projects that the CEC has planned to implement in this field in the near future. For years, the Council of Europe has been a serious and comprehensive partner of the CEC in the development of various projects. The support that the EU has given to projects from time to time has been vital for the realization and success of these projects”, he said.
Celibashi said that the project of digitizing various reports related to the financing of political parties and election campaigns has been and remains one of the most important projects of the CEC.
He added that the company that realized this platform from a technical point of view has responded best to the requirements of the CEC regarding the qualities that this platform should have.
“What remains important is that this mechanism remains good for anyone who in one way or another will be a user of this system and for sure, this will not be a system of the type that is presented with great fanfare and then they are lost, but it will be usable and functional from now on,” said Celibashi./p.s./
