PRISTINA, April 4 /ATA/ The former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, expects that at the end of the trial he will be acquitted of all the charges brought against him.
He told the panel of international judges that he felt sorry for all the victims of the war, adding that the victims do not get justice when the innocent are persecuted.
During his unsworn statement in court, Thaçi insisted that he is innocent.
He said that one injustice is not remedied by another injustice.
Thaçi cited the report of the Swiss senator Dick Marty, which mentioned “organ trafficking and the yellow house.”
He said that the international community had told him that the court had to be established in order to clear up the dark cloud on Kosovo.
“The world is clear now that there was no organ trafficking and ‘yellow house.’ Now I know, and the people have been cleared of this. The black cloud over Kosovo has cleared up. The sacrifice was worth it. I expect to be acquitted of all charges at the end of this process,” said Thaçi.
“I believe that this process will be fair and transparent,” he added.
