Trial against Thaçi and friends expected to last long

PRISHTINA, April 3/ATA/ The first opening session of the trial against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army ended today, a process which is expected to last several years.

The researcher from the Fund for Humanitarian Right Amer Alija, who closely monitored today’s session, said that the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office spoke more about the organizational structure of the KLA and the claims of this office, as carried in the indictment.

He said he expects this court process to last three or four years.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi appeared before the jury today and pleaded not guilty to all counts of the indictment charged by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office and related to war crimes. The indictment against them was confirmed in 2020, while they have been in custody since November of that year. /G. Kadrija/ /KosovaPress/p.s./
