TIRANA, March 31/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the plan to make Albania completely independent from the energy point of view and to make it a net exporter is becoming more and more realistic.
PM Rama inspected the site of the photovoltaic park “Blue 1” in Seman of Fier.
There he said that there is a large flow of requests for building photovoltaic parks.
“We cannot give productive agricultural land to install panels”, said Rama.
The prime minister added that the volume of potential investments is huge.
“There are investments starting from Skavica hydropower plant, which is in the process, to continue with the wind farms. We also have the liquefied gas investment in context with the first gasification project that we are designing together with our partners in Azerbaijan. If that project goes well then it will be expanded”, added Rama.
The prime minister reminded that now we are again approaching a difficult period which is the peak of summer when consumption increases.
“That’s why we have to restart little by little another campaign for consumption. It’s the same like in winter. But, in summer consumption increases due to tourism”, he emphasized.
However, the prime minister concluded by expressing his belief that the future is good./r.e/p.s./
