PRISTINA, March 18 /ATA/ – Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti said Saturday that he had travelled to North Macedonia wishing that an agreement will be signed with Serbia to normalize relations between the two countries.
However – Kurti went on saying – a final text for the implementation of the EU plan has yet to be finalized.
Before meeting with the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell and EU special representative for Serbia-Kosovo dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, Kurti said that he has arrived here to hold talks for an agreement and not just for mere talks.
“I’m optimistic that we’ll do everything in the best interest of the Republic of Kosovo, its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Kurti said in a brief statement.
Kosovo PM Kurti, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić are meeting as part of the EU-mediated talks in North Macedonia’s lakeside resort city of Ohrid.
European Union informed that the EU High Representative High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, and the EU Special Representative for the Pristina-Belgrade Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, will be meeting separately with Kosovo PM Kurti and the Serbian President Vučić.
A joint head-to-head meeting will follow, with talks expected to focus on the EU proposal on normalisation of ties between Kosovo and Serbia.
Kosovo and Serbia agreed last month on the of an 11-point EU plan to normalize bilateral relations.
