TIRANA, March 16 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The Complaints and Sanctions Commission decided on Thursday to register in local elections the Democratic Party run by acting chairman Enkelejd Alibeaj.
CSC met on Thursday to examine the request of the Democratic Party represented by Enkelejd Alibeaj for registration in the May 14 local elections.
Having heard the legal representatives of the two groups, CSC decided with a majority of votes to partially accept the appeal of Alibeaj-led group, asking the legal representative to file with the CEC the statement containing the data on the vice chairman Enkelejd Alibeaj, in the capacity of the acting head, the statement of solemn commitment signed by the vice-chair Alibeaj in the capacity of the acting chairman.
“On behalf of the CEC, ASC decided by a majority of votes to dismiss the request no. 33 of the appellant Democratic Party. Partial acceptance of appeal no. 32 of the appellant Democratic Party represented in the session by Indrit Sefa. The appellant, the Democratic Party represented by Indrit Sefa, should submit to the CEC the additional documentation as follows: Declaration according to letter b of point 2 of article 64 of the Electoral Code with the data for the vice-chairman Mr. Enkelejd Alibeaj in the capacity of acting head. The declaration of solemn commitment signed by the vice chairman Mr. Alibeaj in the capacity of the acting chairman of the party.”
