TIRANA, March 9 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama told reporters on Thursday that a new bill on public-sector wage hikes, pension increases and tax breaks will be announced soon.
The government head noted that a significant step has been already made with the increase in the monthly wage for the specialist physicians, who will finally receive the highest remuneration level in the region as of April.
“The doctor salaries are being equalized with Serbia. Doctors in all countries in the region receive almost same salary level,” he said.
“We need to offer competitive salaries to certain trades, starting with digital capacities and human resources as we should strengthen cyber defense and give a fresh impetus to the digital revolution,” PM Rama said.
The government head also noted that the new phase of the country’s EU integration process requires enhanced human resources to draft around 4000 pieces of legislation and bylaws that should be aligned with the EU legislation.
PM Rama said that personal income tax on wages up to 50,000 lek, whereas the minimum wage will be increased to 40,000 lek.
