Mayor: Some 13 new student dorms built in Tirana

TIRANA, March 5 /ATA/ – Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj highlighted a series of investment projects on transforming the student dormitories in the Albanian capital as he released a weekly video message on Sunday.

“Tirana Municipality has been delivering on projects to build 13 brand new student residences, whereas 16 more existing student dormitories have been totally rehabilitated,” Veliaj said in his message.

Mayor Veliaj also said that the student card is a promise kept as it provides more than 2,200 services for free and reduced tariffs for more than 65,000 university students.

“Despite the inflation and energy crisis triggered by Putin’s aggression, we have delivered on our promise for the student card that provides them many public services and halved dormitory cost,” he said.

Veliaj pointed out the ongoing project to revitalize Tirana’s iconic pyramid building and transform it into the region’s largest digital technology and know-how centre.

“I am looking forward to inaugurating the Pyramid by spring. The facility is set to become the region’s biggest digital technology and innovation centre,” he said.
