TIRANA, Feb 28 /ATA/ The High Inspector of Justice, Artur Metani, received in a courtesy meeting the delegation of the Center of the Rule of Law of Finland, headed by the former Minister of Justice of Finland, Tuija Brax.
The High Inspector of Justice introduced the interlocutors to the role and functions of the HIJ, as one of the new institutions of the Justice Reform, which aims to restore citizens’ trust in the justice system, by encouraging better work standards from prosecutors and judges.
“A magistrate should not only be responsible for compliance or non-compliance with legal norms, but should be accountable to people, society and state institutions, directly influencing the public perception and trust in the justice system. The level of trust of citizens in the justice bodies is a very important element for the justice system, as it is an important indicator to evaluate how the justice system and the rule of law work in a country,” said Metani.
Brax explained that the purpose of this organization is to connect Finnish expertise and experience on the Rule of Law with national and international institutions that can benefit from it.
