Opposition holds protest in front of Assembly

TIRANA, February 23/ATA/ The opposition held a protest in front of the Assembly headquarters, while inside the building there is taking place the plenary session, where the opposition MPs demand the launch of the investigation commission on the Rama-McGonigal case.

Dozens of supporters of the Democratic Party, with banners in their hands, gathered in protest in front of the Assembly headquarters, while the DP MPs, excluded from the Assembly session, clashed with the members of the Guard of the Republic, as they were not allowed to enter the session.

PD MP Flamur Noka stated in front of the protesters that the Guard is being used by Rama to suppress the opposition MPs.

He said that Speaker of Parliament Lindita Nikolla interrupts DP MPs every time Edi Rama is mentioned, while he described the latter as the biggest anti-American after Enver Hoxha.

The Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha joined the protest in front of the Assembly.

Berisha said to the protesters that this is a battle for the protection of the Constitution.

“The Constitution, in its article 70, stipulates the MPs that if they manage to gather 28 signatures, then an inquiry commission is immediately created to investigate on the problem that these 28 people have thought it necessary to investigate. Whereas puppets without dignity block this right of the opposition MPs”, he said./gj.m/p.s./
