TIRANA, Feb 11 /ATA/ During the opposition protest and at its closing in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, the protesters threw firecrackers and flares at the police. The explosion of firecrackers and flares have also sparked fire in some moments as well as smoke.
Protesters started throwing firecrackers and flares after the speech of Democratic Party head, Sali Berisha, which also concluded the opposition’s protest. Berisha warned in his speech of another protest on Monday in front of the Assembly.
Additional police forces were sent in to avoid any kind of escalation.
The protest closed at around 14:00 hrs after Berisha and Meta left and protesters began to disperse.
