PM Rama: “Corriere Della Sera” promotes “land of eagles”

TIRANA, Feb 9 /ATA/ – Italy’s biggest and most influential newspaper “Corriere Della Sera” recently wrote a feature story on Albania’s natural beauties.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the story published on this newspaper by journalist Francesca Massoti, who describes a trip throughout Albania’s coast and historic cities by bike.

“This time it was the turn of the biggest Italian newspaper to promote ‘the land of eagles.’ Crisscrossing the country, the journalist writes a feature story to describe our natural beauties and human values, with the unique hospitality, the growing number of agritourism businesses, cultural heritage and UNESCO sites, revealing Albanian amazing attractions and destinations to foreign visitors,” PM Rama said.

Albania by bike

Some 1,085 kilometers, 4 UNESCO sites, and 15 days; these are the numbers of the itinerary on two wheels to explore one of the wildest and least known countries in Europe, Albania , and the south-eastern part of the country in particular.

Albania by bicycle: the most beautiful itineraries

By bicycle you travel, without haste, roads between wild lands where peaks, valleys, vineyards and ancient villages on the slopes of the mountains follow one another, as well as the monasteries and castles overlooking the sea and historic cities, where time seems to have stopped and the rhythms are what they used once to be.

From Tirana two weeks of adventures

An adventure that starts and ends in the same place, in Tirana, the bustling capital of the “Land of Eagles. Two weeks of travel along the southern hinterland of Albania up to the border with North Macedonia , bypassing the shores of the oldest and deepest lake in the old continent and then the shores of Europe’s last wild river, the Vjosa, which is about to become a national park.

And then, again, cities with a thousand-year history included by UNESCO in its list of world heritage sites, priceless archaeological sites, pristine beaches, hidden bays and castles overlooking the sea.

Recommending this trip is none other than the New York Times: the UNESCO Cycling Route is indeed on the list of 52 destinations not to be missed in 2023.

A unique opportunity to visit at the beginning and end of summer one of the last unexplored and authentic territories in Europe.

A slow journey by bicycle through villages with an ancient feel, monasteries overlooking the sea, stone villages and hospitality inherited from the ancient times.
