TIRANA, December 6 /ATA/ The Italian-Albanian Archaeological Mission has carried out excavations in the A11 sector, in Finiq, where there have come to light many overlapping blocks.
They are the remains of a wall from the Roman period, collapsed probably due to an earthquake. According to specialists, their overall effect is impressive, as they look like the stones of a giant domino.
“In the A11 sector, there are many things that impressed us, such as the completely collapsed terrace wall downstream”, writes the Archaeological Mission on social media.
The Archeological Park of Finiq is a destination more and more frequented by local and foreign tourists, while its value increases with the occasional discoveries of the Italian-Albanian expedition.
The ancient city of Finiq has a great historical and archaeological value, an integral part of our cultural heritage. The ancient city of Finiq received the status of National Archaeological Park in 2005. Since the beginning of the 2000s, the Italian-Albanian Archaeological Mission has been located in Finiq, with specialists from the University of Bologna.
The Archaeological Park of Finiq is located on a hill 283 m above sea level, 9 km east of the city of Saranda. /gj.m/p.s./
