Krifca: Incentive policies for addition of processing factories

TIRANA, Feb  6 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, on Monday visited the fruit and vegetable processing factory “Zdravo shpk”, in Lushnja.

Minister Krifca announced that this is an enterprise set up by 6 brothers and with the support of the IPARD program, from a simple workshop, today it manages to produce with a high capacity of up to 5 thousand tons, tripling the amount of production to 40 thousand jars.

According to her, “the products are intended, not only for the Albanian market, but almost half of the production is exported to 37 countries of the world, even to the USA.”

“The company has significantly improved the production technology, for the processing of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, olives and other vegetables, and has 100 employees, thus contributing significantly to the household economies of the farmers who sell the products in this factory, as well as the employees in this modern factory,” said Krifca.

Krifca estimated that there has been an increase in exports of agricultural products and agro-processing, about 25% compared to previous years.

“We want the value of the product to increase as much as possible through local processing. The company is an excellent example of this support and we will continue with our policies to support precisely the addition of such factories, processing and collection units”, she said.
