TIRANA, Feb 6 /ATA/ – With the archive digitization already underway, Albania’s State Cadastre is expected to launch digitization of cadastral maps all over Albania through the assistance of the European Union.
The EU Delegation representative, Hubert Perr, Director of Cooperation and Peter Danis, project manager of the EU for Property Rights recently visited the Digital Cadastre Centre.
The EU Delegation officials were familiarized with the work processes carried out at this Centre, in particular with the process of digitization and scanning of real estate documentation and archives, a process which is being implemented by the Albanian Cadastre through the Albania state budget funding.
The European Union Delegation, through its IPA Programme funds, is committed to financing the process of scanning real estate cadastral maps.
Both of these complementary processes will deliver full digitization of cadastral data on real estate, paving the way for systematic improvement and correction deficiencies on the inherited data over the years, directly affecting quality of service delivery to the citizens, as well as in the development of the real estate market.
The two projects envisage digitization and scanning of about 50 million documents and about 90 thousand cartographic plates, covering the entire territory of the country.
