TIRANA, February 4/ATA/ The surgeons at the Neurosurgery Service of the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center, QSUT successfully performed a rare intervention of a high degree of difficulty for the complete removal of the tumor in a very delicate area, deep in the brain.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today on social media the testimony of surgeon Arsen Seferi, who together with the team composed of doctors Ridvan Alimehmeti, Elvis Dervishi, Ejona Lilamani, Mithat Demneri, Kliti Pilika, treated the difficult case.
The neurosurgeon Arsen Seferi informed that it is about a 40-year-old patient who had a pathology in a very difficult or very delicate part of the brain.
“Obviously, this very delicate, very difficult and very rare operation cannot be performed without the support of technology. Our hall is equipped with all the necessary means. Often, surgical intervention in certain areas of the brain can be associated with irrecoverable paralysis. We have removed a tumor in a very delicate area where for many years, even to this day, even in other structures outside Albania, only a biopsy could be done or only a part of the tumor could be removed,” he said. /m.m/p.s./
