TIRANA, Jan 2 /ATA/ – Doctors and health workers and teachers will receive a 6% pay rise in 2023.
As many as 19.000 physicians, nurses and health professionals across the primary health care system and hospitals, as well as health workers and experts at the Ministry of Health and health institutions will benefit the new pay hike set to enter into force in July.
In the meantime, more than 36 700 teachers, including social and security workers, will also see their wages increase in the second half of the year.
The wages increase policy is part of the government’s support package for doctors, nurses and teachers.
Health professionals have seen their wages grow constantly, increasing by 63% since 2013, with the 40% historic pay rise in 2021 only.
The financial effect from the pay rise for doctors and nurses is estimated around $10 million.
