Rama: Kamza collection point with 12 refrigerated rooms

TIRANA, December 14/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected today the premises of the “Riviera” company in Kamza.

The “Riviera” is an exemplary enterprise set up by 4 brothers, who invested their emigration savings in Albania and have recently built this spectacular collection point, where they collect products from a network of farmers throughout the country”, emphasized Rama.

“With the support of the government through the IPARD program, this point has 12 refrigerated rooms with a capacity of 7,000 cubic meters, and salaries of over 50,000 Lekë for its employees,” added Rama.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Frida Krifca said that, “The company made the investment in 2021 and put it into efficiency last year.”

Krifca stated that they currently employ about 10 employees, collectors, processors, economists, etc.

Krifca added that, “Kamza didn’t have a collection point like this. It is currently a reference center. It has collected apples from the entire area of Dibra and the area of Korça”.

PM Rama said that, “The first steps of processing have started to be taken. This part of the fresh produce collection and export system has been consolidated and will naturally develop and have its own course. But, the perspective is the processing. We have to process here, have all the sauces, jams and other ingredients resulting from the processing so that not a single fruit or vegetable is thrown away. That part of products that is not 100% qualitative for export should be processed and be added value”./p.s./
