Rama: “Open Balkan,” outcome of the Berlin Process

TIRANA, Dec 1 /ATA/ -By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Thursday that the “Open Balkan” is an initiative in full compliance with the spirit and letter of the EU, and on the other hand, it is an output of the Berlin Process.

In a media statement after the government meeting, Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to the questions of journalists on the “Open Balkan.”

“Suffice it to consider the fact that as part of the renewed Berlin Process we signed exactly those documents that were previously signed in the Open Balkan. So, we have no reason to change our opinion on the Open Balkan. Maybe those who are against the Open Balkan have reasons to change their opinion, but it is their right to think differently from us,” he said.

The Prime Minister also said that the “Open Balkan” has received the green light from more than 60% of Albanians, the Albanian citizens polled during the National Consultation.
