TIRANA, Nov 27 /ATA/ – Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said Sunday that Albania and Kosovo “should further deepen cooperation, share ideas, accept different opinions and critics levelled at one another,” underlining that “the public space, politics, culture and economy are not the occupied properties, but the common castle where everyone should put a stone on its wall.”
Addressing a joint session of the parliaments of Albania and Kosovo being held in Tirana on the 110th anniversary of the National Independence Day, PM Kurti extended his best wishes to all Albanians throughout the world, describing the Independence Day as “a sacred celebration of the national identity.”
“The Independence Declaration singles out Islmail Qemal as a leader among equal leaders, so a Republican leader. According to researchers, the text of the Declaration of the Independence was written by the first Education Minister Luigj Gurakuqi. However, just 7 years later, as further disintegration of the Albanian lands was high on the agenda of the London Treaty, on the eve of the Flag Day that year, Gurakuqi called for unification lf all Albanians,” Kurti said.
Kurti underlined that the regional division have always been a barrier to this unification and put emphasis on the importance of being more united.
“We should be together more frequently, not only when it comes to celebrations and holidays, but also to work and share ideas with each other, accept different opinions and the critics towards each other,” Kurti said.
Kosovo PM underlined that the youth emigration is a very sharp problem facing both Albania and Kosovo and vowed to do whatever effort to improve state-building proves and restore trust in public institutions.
